Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 5 (ANI): After filing his nomination from the Civil Lines seat for the upcoming Rajasthan Elections, Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that the party would secure a historic majority and retain power in Rajasthan.
The Congress leader filed his nomination for the Civil Lines Assembly constituency, a seat from where the Bharatiya Janata Party is yet to announce its candidate.
After which he told ANI “Right now the Chief Minister is Ashok Gehlot. As far as the elections are concerned, Rahul ji and Sonia Gandhi will make the decision after taking everyone’s opinion. BJP does politics of lies and deception but we do as we say.”
He further said, “Whether the government was of Congress or BJP, I always took to the streets and shed my blood and sweat for the respect of the people.”
Showing confidence in the upcoming elections in the state, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that the Congress will win the elections with a record majority and will repeat the government in Rajasthan.
“There is division among the BJP leaders, that is why today the government has to deploy security personnel outside the Rajasthan BJP office for the security of their leaders. The fight going on in BJP over ticket distribution should be handled first by the BJP leaders,” he said.
He also took a jibe at the BJP and said “Jinke ghar sheeshe ke hote hai unhe dusro par patthar nahi phekna chahiye” which translates as (whose houses are made of glass, they should not throw stones at others’ houses).
Speaking on the recent ED actions in the poll-bound state, the Congress leader said that BJP is putting forward ED in these elections.
“The corrupt BJP does the work of scaring the Congress leaders in the name of ED. Just as Bajrangbali (Lord Hanuman) destroyed the BJP in Karnataka, the same thing is going to happen in Rajasthan also,” he added.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress emerged as the largest single party, winning 99 seats while the BJP had to settle for 73 seats in the 200-member house.
Ashok Gehlot eventually took oath as the chief minister with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
Rajasthan will poll for the Assembly in a single phase on November 25 and the votes will be counted along with those of four other poll-bound states on December 3. (ANI)
