Matrix 4 video reveals new plot details, teases Jessica Henwick’s character

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new featurette for The Matrix 4 that teases the role of Jessica Henwick and gives fresh narrative information. In The Matrix 4, Jessica Henwick will star with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. They are all newcomers to the franchise. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith will reprise their iconic roles from the original trilogy in The Matrix: Revolutions.

There are many unsolved issues on fans’ thoughts as they prepare for The Matrix Resurrections. The Matrix Revolutions, for example, closes with Neo (Reeves) and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) dying together. Thereby, putting an end to the agent’s reign of terror. Similarly, after being fatally impaled by a piece of rebar, Trinity (Moss) dies in Neo’s arms. It was originally intended to be the franchise’s final installment. The Matrix Revolutions aimed to wrap up the tale without the fourth installment in mind. As a result, until now, the question of how Neo and Trinity would fit into The Matrix Resurrections has remained largely unaddressed.

A new featurette for The Matrix Resurrections has been released by Warner Bros., revealing further narrative elements. The behind-the-scenes film includes commentary from the primary characters. It gives additional information on Neo and Trinity’s new existence in the system while also hinting at their eventual reunion. The film also offers new information on Henwick’s character, Bugs. Also, the group she forms to resist the system while hoping that Neo is still alive.

Both Neo and Trinity appear locked within the Matrix under new identities in the video above. Trinity is now Tiffany, and Neo is now Thomas Anderson (as he was before becoming Neo). Both people live pretty typical lives. Anderson takes “blue pills” daily until they suspect they’re part of something much bigger. Reeves’ character chooses to take the “red pill” after meeting Henwick’s character and her circle of believers. Thus, beginning off his comeback as Neo. The video above does not provide a thorough explanation of the impending narrative. But it does begin to connect the dots.

This isn’t the first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections that Warner Bros. has released. Previous trailers and featurettes, on the other hand, all featured material from the first three Matrix films, which never really gave viewers an indication as to what the fourth picture will be about. One of the most interesting features of this new trailer is that it includes never-before-seen footage from the film, including the best look yet at Matrix newcomer Bugs and his plans. Even though the new short is the best explanation of The Matrix Resurrections so far, there are still a lot of unanswered issues. Bugs and her crew, on the other hand, appear to be just as eager as the audience to figure out where Neo is in this odd new universe.
