The unexpected song from the ‘Encanto’ album, ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno,’ has become the first Disney song from a Disney film to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart since ‘A Whole New World,’ from ‘Aladdin,’ in 1993. It joins the “Encanto” album as a chart-topper. The soundtrack of the animated picture remains at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for the third time in four weeks.

Billboard also notes that “Bruno,” written alone by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is the first Hot 100 chart-topper established by a solo writer in more than four years, with Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” being the previous. It’s the first time a Miranda song has clambered to the top of the charts. It’s also only the second time a Disney song has ever pinnacled the Billboard charts, with “A Whole New World” being the first. Also, it did it with almost no radio play, which is extraordinary for a chart where spins play a significant role.

According to Billboard, no other song has ever attained No. 1 with several lead singers. Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz, and the cast of “Encanto” are all documented as contributors to the song. That wins against the old record by one, with six performers listed individually.

After its 10-week supremacy at No. 1, Adele’s “Easy on Me” was compelled to evacuate the top spot on the Hot 100 due to “Bruno’s” rise. “Easy on Me” lowers to No. 2 by one slot. Adele’s song nonetheless still topped the Radio Songs list, with 94.6% audience impressions and 14.1 million streams for the week.

Last week’s Nos. 3-8 tracks have clasped in position. Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” at No. 3 dominating the way, Gayle’s song “abcdefu” is at No. 8 on the Hot 100, where it was last week, but it is No.1 for the fourth week on two significant international Billboard charts, the Global 200 and the Global Excl. the U.S. chart. With 115,000 album-equivalent sales, “Encanto” lingered at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. That’s a surge of 11% over the previous week. Also, it’s the album’s outstanding weekly total to date as the album’s proportion increases week after week.
