Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met seven Indian COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers just days after the country reached the landmark of administering 100 crore vaccine doses, news agency PTI reported.

Representatives from seven vaccine makers including Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Zydus Cadila attended the meeting with PM Modi.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar were also present in the meeting as well.

During the meeting, PM Modi reportedly discussed various issues including furthering the vaccine research

The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 101.30 crore, according to the Health Ministry data updated on Saturday morning

India on October 21 achieved a major milestone in its vaccination programme as the vaccine doses administered surpassed the 100-crore mark, resulting in celebrations across the country

More than 75 per cent of India’s adult population has received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while over 31 per cent adults have been administered both doses, according to health ministry officials.
