Congress MP K Suresh demanded a ban on RSS and said that both are on the same page when it comes to spreading communalism
Kochi: After the Centre banned the Islamic Group Popular Front of India (PFI), Congress MP said that now Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) should be banned too. He demanded that a ban should be imposed on RSS for perpetuating “Hindu communalism.”
The Home Ministery issued a ban on PFI and its affiliates late on Tuesday night for having terror links. The ministry declared the PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association with immediate effect.
Congress MP K Suresh demanded a ban on RSS and said that both are on the same page when it comes to spreading communalism. “We demand a ban on RSS as well. The ban on PFI is not the remedy as RSS is also spreading Hindu communalism throughout the country. So both the RSS and PFI are equal. The government should ban both. Why only PFI? RSS is also doing the majority communalism,” he said.
Terming communalism as a dangerous element he said, “Wherever majority communalism is there, then minority communalism is also coming up. So ultimately both (majority and minority) communalism is dangerous. It is dangerous for the country. So the government should ban both. Otherwise no result.”
Earlier, while condemning the violence perpetrated by the Popular Front of India (PFI) in Kerala, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh lashed out at the RSS and VHP, calling them “ek hi thali ke chatte batte” and demanding action against “all those who spread hatred and violence.”

Earlier this month National Investigative Agency and Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at multiple locations across the nation. More than 150 have been held so far.
