“We thank legendary Sourav Ganguly for playing a match with other legends. Once a legend, always a legend, Dada is always there for Cricket.

BCCI President and former India captain will be playing a special cricket match in Legends League Cricket. Ganguly announced on his social media handle, confirming that he would indeed be playing a very special match in the Season 2 of Legends League Cricket. (LLC).

Recently LLC announced that the upcoming season would be hosted in India. Thus, the Indian fans would be able to see Sourav Ganguly play once again, even though for a special match for a social cause.

The former Indiaosted pictures of himself sweating it out in the gym and he captioned the post as: “Enjoying the training to get ready to play for one-off charity fundraising game for Azadi ka Mahotsav..75 years of Indian independence and also for women empowerment with the top legends of the legends league cricket @llct20 need to hit some cricket balls soon.”

“We thank legendary Sourav Ganguly for playing a match with other legends. Once a legend, always a legend, Dada is always there for Cricket. And he will play a special social cause match, which is going to be a spectacular view for our audience. We hope to see some iconic dada shots,” said Raman Raheja, Co-Founder & CEO, Legends League Cricket, in an official release.

Mr Ganguly has a total of  113 Test and 311 ODI appearances for India. scoring 18,575 runs across all formats. He had led India in 195 matches across all formats and managed to win 97 matches out of those.

It will be a nostalgic feeling for the 90s cricket fans to watch the legend get back to the 22 yards. The first edition of the LLC was won by the World Legends defending the Asia Lions, however, the most runs of the tournament were from the bat of Naman Ojha (259) who represented India Maharaja. The first season of tri team series was played in January this year.

Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis, Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Muttiah Muralitharan are also expected to be a part of the tournament.
