Kolkata Jan 31 PTI West Bengals new Covid-19 cases on Monday dropped to 1910 from 3427 the previous day while the overall infection tally climbed to 1995516 the health department said in a bulletinThe state recorded 36 more coronavirus fatalities taking the death toll to 20619The number of active cases decreased by 5853 in a day to be 25709 the bulletin saidAltogether 7727 Covid patients recovered from the disease during the day pushing the total number of cured people to 1949188 The discharge rate now is 9768 per centOf the fresh fatalities 13 were registered in North 24 Parganas district followed by five in Kolkata and three in Nadia districtNorth 24 Parganas also recorded the highest number of new infections at 233 while Kolkata Darjeeling and Hooghly districts logged 179 150 and 141 cases respectively the bulletin saidIn the last 24 hours West Bengal tested 34817 samples for Covid-19 taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 23218059 it added PTI SCH NN NN
