Shiv Sena leader on Wednesday alleged that the Bulk Drug Park project in Raigad has also been taken out of Maharashtra. The politics of the state has heated up over the issue of the Vedanta-Foxconn project in the state, which was earlier planned to take shape in Talegaon near Pune. The project, however, has now been moved to Dholera city in Gujarat. The opposition has been targeting the Shinde government on this issue. Against this backdrop, Aditya Thackeray attacked the Shinde government today in a press conference.

Talking to reporters, Aaditya Thackeray said, “We were also going to bring a bulk drug park in Raigad and some other areas. Now bulk drug parks will take shape in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. And the first bulk drug park will come up in Bharuch, Gujarat. Maharashtra was the first to demand a bulk drug park. This news is from 2nd to 3rd September. That was when Mr Shinde, who declared himself as the present Chief Minister of the state was hopping Ganeshotsav Pandals. He was going to different places. But, maybe even the Industry Minister is not aware of this topic now. Or even the Chief Minister is not aware of this subject. Bulk Drug Park was a big project. It was useful for Maharashtra. Maharashtra had the first right on this. The project has now gone out of Maharashtra.”

Former state minister Subhash Desai also criticised the Shinde government over the project. In the same press conference, Subhash Desai said, “The central government has taken all the information about Bulk Drug Park from us. The centre had then replied saying the situation in Maharashtra is suitable for the project. However, that project has now also gone to Gujarat. Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat have left Maharashtra behind. Now I fear that more projects will continue to move out of the state in future. This government will not even dare to speak about that.”
