CM Dhami launches hygiene education programme for Uttarakhand schools
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 17 (ANI): With the aim to create awareness towards cleanliness among children, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday launched the School Hygiene Education Programme for the state.

The programme will be run in 13,000 primary schools in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand.
For the programme, the Uttrakhand education department has signed an MoU with Reckitt.
Launching the programme, Chief Minister Dhami said it will bring about a change in the daily behaviour of children towards cleanliness. He said that it is necessary to create awareness among children about cleanliness in personal, schools, homes and nearby areas.
He said that from birth to the age of six years, the mental and physical development of children is the fastest. “Children move forward following the discipline they get in the early stages of life. The coming 25 years will be the nectar of the country, these children of today will be the captains of the country after 25 years. It is important to give them the right direction,” Dhami said.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy-2020. For the implementation of the National Education Policy, Bal Vatikas have been started in 4,457 co-located Anganwadi centres in the state. New programmes like ‘Praveshotsav’, ‘Aarohi’, ‘Kaushalam’, ‘Anandam’, and ‘Vidya Setu’ are being conducted.
In order to promote online education, Dhami said virtual classrooms have been established in central studios and 500 schools in all 13 districts of the state. In higher education, subjects like Vedic science, Vedic mathematics and management introduction to Bhagavad Gita have been implemented as co-curricular with the aim of acquainting the students with Indian culture and the Indian knowledge system.
The Chief Minister said the startup policy has been implemented with the objective of promoting research and startups in higher educational institutions. (ANI)
