New Delhi Feb 28 PTI Delhi on Monday reported 258 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero death while the positivity rate stood at 071 per cent according to data shared by the city health departmentThe zero Covid fatality count in a day recorded in the city comes after a gap of nearly two monthsWith 258 fresh cases the national capitals case count increased to1859892 The death toll stood at 26122 the latest health bulletin statedThe number of COVID-19 tests conducted a day ago stood at 36584 it saidDelhi had on Sunday recorded 484 cases with a positivity rate of 095 per cent and three deathsDelhi on January 31 last year had recorded zero death and 1796 coronavirus cases with a positivity rate of 244 per centThe number of daily cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching the record high of 28867 on January 13 The city had recorded a positivity rate of 306 per cent on January 14 the highest during the ongoing wave of the pandemic Amid decline in daily cases of COVID-19 in Delhi the number of patients underhomeisolationhere has also significantly fallen in the last two weeksThe total number of home isolation cases as on February 1 had stood at 12312 and on February 28 it dipped to 1471The number of containment zones which were also slowly falling in this period also registered adipin its count to 4626 on February 28 according to official figures shared by the health departmentThe surge in Covid cases in Delhi during the third wave of the pandemic was largely due to the Omicron variant of the virus which is highly transmissibleThere are 11045 beds for Covid patients in Delhi hospitals and 167 151 per cent of them were occupied A total of 167 Covid patients were in hospitals the Friday health department bulletin stated PTI KND SRY
