Disney to collaborate with BTS for 5 major projects

The fan-favorite South Korean band, BTS has announced their collaboration with the streaming giant Disney. BTS gave this major news to their fans via Twitter. The collaboration will have 5 major projects, out of which three will be exclusive series featuring band members.

Through the partnership, Disney will be able to release a number of new projects with Hybe, formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment, in the coming years. The 3 major upcoming projects are:

• BTS: PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA: In November 2021, BTS performed live at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium in November 2021. This limited edition cinematic 4K concert film captures that performance. This was the band’s first in-person encounter with fans since the pandemic, during which they performed the Billboard hits “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
• IN THE SOUP – Friendcation` is another project that has been touted as an original travel reality show with a star-studded cast including V of BTS, Itaewon Class` Seo-jun Park, Parasite star Woo-shik Choi, Hyung-sik Park, and Peakboy. The show features the five friends venturing on a surprise trip and enjoying a variety of leisure and fun activities.
• BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star: This unique documentary series explores the amazing path of contemporary music icons BTS. The documentary will showcase the daily lives, ideas, and goals of BTS members as they gear up for their second chapter. “With unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage over the past nine years, the series will feature the daily lives, thoughts, and plans of BTS members, as they prepare for their second chapter,” Disney said. 

Disney announces collaboration with BTS

Announcing the collaboration, Disney said, “This collaboration represents our creative ambition – to work with iconic content creators and top stars in the Asia Pacific so their talent can be enjoyed by mainstream audiences in multiple ways. We believe these new titles will captivate consumers worldwide and look forward to introducing more music content on our service.”

BTS recently said that it would be taking a hiatus to work on some individual projects.
