Donald Trump has taken the internet by storm once again. It is not something he said but because of his new social media venture, ‘Truth Social’. It was launched on Monday and has become high in demand. The social media application became the top downloaded ‘free’ app. Not just this, due to high demands some users were waitlisted too.
When users tried to create an account using their birthday, e-mail address, or phone number, they received error warnings. “Something went wrong. Please try again,” the message read. Meanwhile, others received a text saying, “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist.” The ones who had pre-ordered did not receive any such issue.
The application was originally scheduled to roll out earlier in March but to everyone’s surprise, it came earlier. Donald Trump’s son had shared a glimpse of his father’s post on Truth Social. The tweet had received mixed reactions from everyone.
TMTG cloaked in secret
The initial public version of Truth Social, or version 1.0, was available a day ago, according to the app store page showing its version history, verifying a Reuters report. According to the page, the latest version 1.0.1 offers “bug fixes”. Even when more information about the app becomes available, TMTG remains cloaked in secret and is viewed with distrust by those in the IT and media circles. For example, it’s unclear how the corporation plans to fund its present expansion
Seeing the massive demand, one can determine the craze people have and how they were waiting for the rollout of Truth Social. But the real opinion of the users will only come out after the high in-demand social media app is used over a period of time. On the other hand, the technology group has not communicated anything regarding the global launch.
