Facebook officially launches Live Audio Room and podcasts in the United States, competing with Clubhouse. The company announced that public figures in the US can host rooms through the Facebook iOS app. However, people using both Android and iOS can join these rooms. Read along to find out all about this new Facebook feature.
What’s special about Live Audio room?
Unlike Clubhouse, Live Audio Rooms does not have a cap on the number of people in a room. Additionally, it has handy features like live captions. It also notifies you when your followers and friends join a room. Facebook also offers a ‘raise your hand’ button so that you can request to join in on a conversation. It also keeps your interactions on throughout the chat. This way, you can keep track of them.
Moreover, this new feature also allows hosts to choose a fundraiser or nonprofit to raise funds and support. We believe that this feature was added after repeated requests from clubhouse creators.
Podcasts on Facebook
Additionally, Facebook plans to start automatic captions and give the option to save favorite parts of a clip. However, at the moment, the social media platform allows users to comment, share, and favorite podcasts. It also gives the users a chance to share their favorite clips and create or share playlists.
The new feature might or might not last for a long time. Surely it’s too early to decide that but, it is clear that Facebook is eager to compete against Spotify, discord, clubhouse, and several more.
