In a strange incident, a strolling hen was put up into custody at the Pentagon security area. The stray hen was seen early Monday morning near the US Department of Defense headquarters, according to the Arlington, Virginia-based Animal Welfare League.
Moreover, one of the league’s employees at the Pentagon security area was assigned with catching the hen. In an email, Chelsea Jones, an organization spokesman, said she certainly couldn’t share the precise site where the bird was identified. “We are not allowed to disclose exactly where she was found. We can only say it was at a security checkpoint,” Jones said.
It’s also unclear where the chicken emerged or how she reached the Pentagon. The hen is a Rhode Island Red, and she has brown feathers, a red comb, and wattles. However, the bird, according to Jones, is “gentle” and “nervous,” but she has allowed certain individuals to coddle her.
Sharing her video on social media, the group said, “Henny Penny is so honored that he wrote a song about her! She certainly loves it…but, she has some feeling[s] about the BBQ sauce line.”
