Mumbai:  The Delhi High Court observed that Union Minister Smriti Irani or her daughter never got a license for a restaurant called . The court said Congress leaders conspired to launch a tirade of false, scathing and belligerent personal attacks against BJP leader Smriti Irani and her daughter.

“Considering the documents on record it is clearly seen that there was no license which was ever issued in favour of the plaintiff or her daughter. The plaintiff or her daughter are not the owners of the restaurant. It has also been established by the plaintiff prima facie that the plaintiff or her daughter never applied for license,” Justice Mini Pushkarna said while hearing a 2-crore civil defamation suit filed by Ms Irani, the Minister for Women and Child Development, against the three Congress leaders.

The High Court said it found the statements of the leaders of Congress to be “of the nature of defamation and appear to be false with malicious intent, only to amass the largest number of viewers and deliberately subject the actor to a large public mockery. “.

The High Court also said that if congress leaders don’t delete their tweets, Twitter should delete them.
