Mumbai: India’s new airline Akasa Air began operations today, having taken off its maiden flight on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. It was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M Scindia together with the general of the MoS Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.). Ticket reservations for this flight and other commercial flights began on 22 July. Its initial network is in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi.
In the inaugural phase, Akasa Air, whose airline code is QP, will start its operations offering 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad starting August 7, 2022. Subsequently, the airline will offer an additional 28 weekly flights between Bengaluru and Kochi from August 13. Tickets for all are available now.
