In the Marijuana bust case in which Amazon India executives have been booked, police say the accused have so far confessed to having transported over 800kg of ‘ganja’ in 384 consignments via the e-commerce platform.
Reports in India Today on Tuesday said that eight persons have been arrested so far in the case of marijuana smuggling through Amazon from Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
Four arrests were made by the anti-corruption wing of the Visakhapatnam Police on Tuesday in the case that was first cracked by Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind police on November 13.

According to Bhind SP Manoj Singh, the latest arrests — four from Visakhapatnam — were made on inputs provided by the Bhind police and a total of 68 Kg of contraband has so far been recovered.
The Bhind police have also registered a case under Section 38 of the NDPS Act against the executive director of Amazon Seller Services after the police claimed the the e-commerce giant refused to cooperate with the investigating agencies.
