Excelsior CorrespondentKATHUA Aug 21 Maharaja Hari Singh Coordination Committee held protest demonstration here today demanding declaring of holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh which falls on September 23 The protestors talked about various reforms initiated by Maharaja and said Today we are Indians just because of Maharaja Hari Singh Our State was never under British rule but still Maharaja Hari Singh spoke about Independence of India in Round Table Conference in London which shook the basis of British empire It was due to this reason that conspiracies against Maharaja started they addedTalking to media persons Ranjeet Singh Pathania president Barwal Athletes Club said that Maharaja Hari Singh worked for all the sections of society and said that its totally unfortunate that Government has announced holiday on Vilay Diwas but is not announcing holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh which is of utmost importance and is related with sentiments of Jammu as Maharaja was originator of the document of accessionAddressing the media Pawan Chib said that today its a token protest and the objective of the protest is to spread the agitation to every household and soon a massive protest will be held at Kathua He said that if Government doesnt announce holiday on September 23 before elections a campaign will be launched No Holiday No Vote He asked the leaders to come forward and join the hands of local public to support the demand Maharaja Hari Singh Coordination Committee appealed to the LG to declare holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh and respect the sentiments of people of JammuLeaders of various organizations participated in the protest They included Rana Rohit Vikram Barinder Partap Vikrant Zorawar Manav Gotra Munish Dogra Dilprit Singh Shubam Khajuria Nannit Sharma Darpan Sharma Vishal Ghor Nishant Chandael etc
