CM Eknath Shinde Cabinet Expansion
CM Eknath Shinde and Mr. Fadnavis have been holding fort as a two-member cabinet, apparently awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court.

Mumbai: Maharashtra CM on Saturday said that the functioning of the state government was not affected in any way by the delay in the expansion of the council of ministers due to him being unwell and the meeting had to call off.
Shinde commented in response to questions about the delay in the expansion of the Maharashtra  Cabinet since the changing of the government in the state on June 30.
Shinde took office on June 30 following the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray in the face of an uprising in Shiv Sena’s ranks. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as deputy prime minister of the government backed by the BJP led by Shinde, who led the uprising in Shiv Sena’s ranks.

“The government’s work was not affected in any way. The decision-making process was not affected. Me and the deputy chief minister have made decisions and there is no impact on the work of the government,” Shinde told NDTV.

“The cabinet expansion will happen vey soon”, he said, refraining him from answering ministers about the delay.

Mr Shinde, who was unwell and advised rest by doctors, had stayed back in Mumbai and was resting in his own residence.

Mr Shinde and Mr Fadnavis have been holding fort as a two-member cabinet, apparently awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court before adding new members to the council of ministers. The SC will hear the Maharashtra petition most likely on Monday.
