Mumbai: The West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, on Monday finally broke her silence on TMC minister in the school recruitment case. She said that she does not support any corruption or wrongdoing, and if anyone is found guilty then that person should be punished. “BJP is wrong if it thinks it can break my party using agencies”, she added.
Chatterjee, who was the state education minister was arrested on Saturday on money-laundering charges linked to an alleged school jobs recruitment scam. Around ₹ 20 crore cash was found from the house of a close associate of Partha Chatterjee, Arpita Mukherjee after a raid. Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after being grilled for more than 26 hours.
“If anyone is found guilty, they should be punished, but I condemn any malicious campaign against me. The truth must come out, but in a time frame,” said Mamata Banerjee.

From the arrest memo of Chaterjee, it was found that he called Mamata Banerjee thrice when the police asked to call a relative or friend whom the person taken in custody intends to inform, and the CM didn’t answered his calls. But, the TMC denied this saying that his phone was with ED so how could he call.
The arrested minister, Partha Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital shortly after he complained of uneasiness. The ED approached the court and said he should be removed from the SSKM state hospital in Calcutta, where he was known for his influence as a powerful minister.
Following an order from the Calcutta High Court he was taken to AIIMS-Bhuvaneswar, Chatterjee was flown to Odisha by air ambulance this morning. The court was told that he was fit, that he didn’t need to be hospitalized.
