Meghan Markle archetypes

Meghan Markle has filed a trademark application for the historic term ‘archetypes’. She will use it as the title of her next Spotify podcast.

According to a story in the British newspaper The Daily Mail, Meghan Markle, the 40-year-old Duchess of Sussex, applied for the trademark of archetypes in March at the US Patent and Trademark Office.

The report also stated that anything “in the fields of cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women” is included in the application’s list of goods and services.

Anything encompasses podcasts, television, DVDs, computer networks, the internet, streaming media, and entertainment services provided by cable or satellite television.

“This is how we talk about women”

Archewell Audio created the application. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle own Archewell Audio. It is situated in Delaware, a tax haven state in the United States.

If they obtain the trademark, Harry and Meghan will own it rather than Spotify. The music streaming service allegedly paid the couple $31 million to create podcast content on its platform.

According to reports, she may face legal issues solely as a result of the trademark application. Skincare and cleaning companies with names like ‘Archetypes’ may sue her.

The Archewell foundation announced that Harry and Meghan’s Spotify podcast will finally premiere this summer, and Meghan will host it. She will discuss women with historians and experts.

In a trailer for the Archewell Audio project, Meghan said, “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us. But where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?”.

“I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place,” she added.
