The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority UMTA has also embarked on a pilot study for first and last-mile connectivity at busy metro stations Later the same facilities would be extended to all stations DC file photoHYDERABAD Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited HMRL has been waiting for patrons to avail the last mile connectivity it has provided at key metro stations on the three corridors of the metro railHMRL authorities have pointed out that 100 vehicles including two wheelers keyless vehicles and gearless scooters have been lying idle at Miyapur Nagole and Bharat Nagar stations apart from 60 four-wheelers at Nagole and Irrum Manzil 50 two-wheelers at Malakpet and 100 two wheelers at LB Nagar Ameerpet Yousufguda and Hi-Tec CityMetro officials say agencies operating at various metro stations have sufficient vehicles but patrons are not availing the facilityThe Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority UMTA has also embarked on a pilot study for first and last-mile connectivity at busy metro stations Later the same facilities would be extended to all stations The authority has already conducted pilot studies at LB Nagar Nagole Secunderabad East Ameerpet Miyapur and Raidurg metro stations in this regardUMTA officials will soon meet stakeholders concerned including TSRTC HMRL South Central Railway Roads and Buildings department HMDA Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Finance department to take a final call on providing the first and last-mile connectivityThe nodal agency will focus on providing RTC MMTS or Setwin services for ensuring connectivity to areas within 2-km radius from the designated stations
