On being asked how could a rape and assault take place when the force has increased patrolling during the festival season in Mumbai, the top cop said that the force can’t be present at every crime location, sparking outrage.
A 32-year-old woman was raped and assaulted with an iron rod in Mumbai’s Sakinaka on Friday. She died while undergoing treatment at a hospital early on Saturday.
