Mumbai: Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik on Saturday said that he will expose more wrongdoings of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

“I will be exposing more wrongdoings of the #NCB, this time not via a Press Conference but on my Twitter handle. The revealing tweets coming shortly…,” reads the tweet on his Twitter handle.

Nawab Malik’s allegation on NCB

Minister Nawab Malik’s security has been increased by the Maharashtra Government. He has been provided Y+ security.

Under the Y+ security, he has been given four armed police guards with a pilot car and four armed police guards at his residence. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik’s security detail was upgraded after he allegedly got threat calls from different states due to his press conference last week.

Malik had alleged that Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had carried out ‘fake’ raid on the luxury cruise liner of the Mumbai coast last week., where eight people including famous actor Shsh Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested.

He had said, “Our allegation is that the BJP has been conspiring to defame Maharashtra, the Maharashtra government and Bollywood for the past one year. The drama of October 3 [NCB raid] was fake.”

Malik also told reporters that a person named “KP Gosavi” was seen bringing Aryan Khan to the NCB office in Mumbai. Referring to a viral photo, Nawab Malik had said, “He [Gosavi] also clicked a selfie with Aryan Khan. The NCB’s Delhi office later released a statement saying that he has nothing to do with NCB.”

Nawab Malik’s son-in-law given bail in drug case

A Mumbai court has granted bail to Sameer Khan, son-in-law of Cabinet Minister and National Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik in connection with a drugs case (Sameer Khan v. Narcotics Control Bureau).

Khan, along with two other accused, Rahila Furniturewala and Karan Sejnani, were arraigned in offences under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(C), 27A, 27, 28 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

NCB alleged that Khan, Furniturewala and Sejnani had conspired to procure, sell, purchase and transport 194.6 kg of ganja and 6 CBD (cannabidiol) sprays, categorised as commercial quantity.

Special NDPS Judge AA Joglekar however relied upon the Chemical Analyser’s report submitted on the seizures which stated that out of the 18 samples which were forwarded for analysis apparently 11 were found to be negative on the aspect of detection of cannabis.

“Apart from this there is no any material to specifically contribute the role of the applicant / accused placed on record by the prosecution more especially in the light of the fact that the recovered contraband in prima-facie as per CA report cannot be held under the ambit of commercial quantity,” the Court noted.
