Addressing the world leaders at the 76th session of the United States General Assembly in New York on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his speech by paying respects to those who succumbed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He mentioned how the pandemic has taught the world that the global economy needs to be diversified and noted that India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’ is inspired by this sentiment. Further he stressed on the importance of expansion of global value chains.

The Prime Minister then highlighted India’s foundational values which are keeping the country’s democracy vibrant and intact.

PM Modi said that India, inspired by Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji’s philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’, is moving ahead and ensuring integrated and equitable development for all.
