Prince Charles amazed by mind reader Chris Walls' trick during Brixton visit

Prince Charles of Wales was amazed by a magician who performed a mind trick on him while the royal was visiting a bank in Brixton. Charles, the heir to the throne, was visiting young entrepreneurs supported by his youth charity, the Prince’s Trust, at a NatWest branch in south London.

The prince was approached by performer Chris Reads Minds, who asked him to think of a colour, a number, and the name of a person, to which Charles replied “blue, 12 and George” – the last a clear reference to his eldest grandchild Prince George. The magician then revealed one of his own business cards, which had been placed in a sealed envelope in a wallet, with similar answers scrawled on it. “Very impressive,” Charles said with a chuckle. It truly is.”

The trust helped the magician, actual name Chris Wall. It was his ambition to become a full-time magician. After his job contract expired in 2019 right before the epidemic began. He enrolled in the trust’s four-day Explore Enterprise Course. It was followed by its Boost Your Business programme and was awarded a grant from the Enterprise Relief Fund.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the Trust and NatWest established the Enterprise Relief Fund to provide emergency payments. Totalling £3.7 million to young people under 30. It is for the people who were self-employed and owned a business but did not qualify for government assistance.

As Charles left the branch, he was met by throngs of people eager to shake his hand.”How is your mother?” one man inquired. with Charles reassuringly patting his arm and appearing to say, “She’s well, thank you.”
