Kalyan : The rift within Maharashtra’s ruling alliance appears to have
been resolved, as Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde and BJP MLA Ganpat
Gaikwad were seen sharing the stage together, displaying a sense of
harmony.
Both leaders attended the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony of the Lokgram
Bridge in Kalyan.
Recently, BJP leaders expressed their displeasure with Shrikant Shinde
over a case registered against one of their party workers. In
response, the BJP leaders passed a resolution stating that they would
not support Shrikant Shinde, the Shiv Sena candidate, in the upcoming
Lok Sabha elections.
However, senior leaders from both parties were observed later
reconciling with each other. On Saturday, there was anticipation
regarding the resolution of issues among workers in Kalyan, where the
differences originated. During the event, banners displayed photos of
leaders from both parties together, and the flags of both parties were
seen side by side. Shinde and local BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad were
observed happily engaging in conversation while sitting on the stage.

During the program, Shinde stated, “Under the guidance of CM Eknath
Shinde, significant railway development works have been carried out in
the Greater Mumbai area, specifically in the Kalyan Lok Sabha
Constituency. To alleviate the daily commuting struggles faced by
citizens on the Central Railway line, we have undertaken the
challenging task of constructing the fifth and sixth lines.”
He further mentioned, “Additionally, the Kalyan Railway Yard
Remodeling Project, with an approximate funding of Rs. 800 crore, is
commencing. This will enable citizens to directly reach the railway
station area from Kalyan East, eliminating the need to walk a
considerable distance. The construction of flyovers during this
project will facilitate smoother vehicular movement.”
Shinde also highlighted that this project would ensure uninterrupted
passage for local and long-distance trains, thus saving valuable time
for passengers. The project’s blueprint has been prepared, and its
implementation is imminent. Furthermore, alongside these ambitious
projects, various development initiatives such as road concreting, the
construction of a grand Ambedkar memorial, and the Agri Koli Warkari
Bhavan are underway in Kalyan city. Shinde urged those present at the
event to make the most of the government’s door-to-door campaign and
take advantage of the numerous government schemes implemented for the
welfare of the people.
