Amy Pascal, the producer of Spider-Man: No Way Home, reveals Sony and Marvel Studios’ plans to continue Tom Holland’s journey as Peter Parker after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans can already expect to see more of the wall-crawler in the MCU. It is less than three weeks until the latest Sony and Marvel Studios collaboration project premieres in theatres.
Following the failure of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Kevin Feige was able to persuade Sony to share Spider-Man with Marvel Studios in 2015. This sparked the companies’ collaboration, and by 2016, Holland had joined the MCU via Captain America: Civil War. He has reprised the role four times since then. Two of which were in his solo films, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The other two occurrences took place in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Now, Holland’s Peter Parker is set to star in his third solo adventure, which is expected to be his most personal adventure yet.
We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel
However, aside from Spider-Man: No Way Home, little is known about the character’s fate until now. Pascal confirms in a new interview with Fandango. They are already planning new films with Marvel Studios in order to keep the wall-crawler in the MCU for the foreseeable future. Sony insiders have since reported that no “official” plans for another trilogy exist. Pascal says they are developing at least one more. “This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
While the terms of the renegotiations were mostly kept under wraps. It is certain that Marvel Studios will produce at least two more films starring Holland’s Spider-Man one of which is Spider-Man: No Way Home. While the other is a currently untitled project that will primarily feature an ensemble cast. Sony retains ownership of the character, and he may appear in its own Spider-Man universe. It’s unclear how this new Spider-Man trilogy will affect the current deal but fans can rest assured that the wall-crawler isn’t going anywhere.
