T Raja Prophet Remark : Protesters In Hyderabad Adopt Nocturnal Strategy

Mumbai: In Hyderabad, protesters are using “nocturnal protest” tactics to put pressure on the administration to detain MLA T Raja Singh, who has since been suspended.
Three nights in a row, there have been protests in the city. The whole thing began on Monday after Raja Singh posted a video on his YouTube account criticizing the Prophet Mohammed. People vented their rage on the streets after learning about it.

Numerous police stations received complaints, and eight cases were filed against the MLA. Rallies, effigy burnings, and road blockages were all part of the nightlong protest.
After Raja Singh was released from detention just 10 hours after being taken into custody, people returned to the streets on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday night the protest went violent with protestors pelting stones at the cops when the police used lathis brutally on them in Mahboob Chowk, Asha Talkies, and Moghalpura localities. Several protestors were injured.

People held rallies all throughout the night. Even though police brutally lathi charged them to scatter the crowd at Shahalibanda, a nightlong protest was recorded there.

“Young people who actively participate in protest can easily congregate at night.”  Samaduddin, a social activist from Hussainialam, said that people easily assemble to join in protest activities after returning from their workplaces, colleges, or other companies.

According to police officials, midnight protests present more danger to officers. Nobody is aware of when it becomes violent. We risk becoming trapped, being attacked by a mob, and even being lynched if streetlights or power transformers are damaged or turned off. Therefore, numerous safeguards must be taken, according to a police inspector.

The BJP MLA T Raja made derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad in a video which sparked a row (similar to Nupur Sharma) in Hyderabad and has again created communal disharmony in the nation. Raja Singh was arrested and was freed after few hours. His statements on Prophet Muhammad were similar to what suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma also said earlier. Raja Singh has also been booked under sections like 153-A, 188, 295-A, 298, 505(1)(B)(C), 505(2), 506, 504, etc of the IPC in eight different cases.

Raja Singh has also said that he will release the second video with similar hate speech.
