Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 14 (ANI): The Administrative Council (AC) which met here under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the extension of ex-gratia relief of Rs. 25 lakhs to the kin of all Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, and members of District Development Councils of Jammu and Kashmir in case of death due to a militancy-related incident, said a press release on Sunday.

Jammu Apr 21 PTI The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday issued the formal order for 50 percent remission in stamp duty for first-time buyers of real estate in the housing sector in the union territory On February 25 the Administrative Council AC which had met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had approved the remission in stamp duty for first-time property buyers In exercise of power conferred by stamps act the government hereby directs that there shall be remission of fifty percent 50 of duty chargeable under the said act for the first time buyers or lessees on purchase or lease of more than 20 years of immovable residential property or apartment or house or a residential plot from any agency of government or development authority of from developer of project approved by RERA said a notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary Finance Atal Dulloo The Housing and Urban Development Department shall designate a nodal agency which shall be responsible for collection of Adhaar-based data of first-time buyers of above properties it said However It is subject to the condition that the value of the property does not exceed Rs 1 crore the notification said The fresh directive will come into effect from April 21 and remain in force till March 2024 The decision is aimed at giving a boost to the real estate sector in Jammu and Kashmir and motivating the new buyers to participate in the market officials said The remission is also expected to provide momentum to property sale and registration by making the purchase of property attractive and affordable they said PTI AB AB AQS AQS

Jammu Feb 25 PTI The first-time buyers of real estate in the housing sector in Jammu and Kashmir will get 50 per cent remission in stamp duty for a period of two years an official said The Administrative Council AC which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved the remission an official spokesman said The decision is aimed at giving a boost to the real-estate sector in Jammu and Kashmir and motivating the new buyers to participate in the market he said The remission is also expected to provide momentum to property sale and registration by making the purchase of property attractive and affordable the spokesman said The AC also asked the housing and urban development department to work out the modalities for smooth implementation of the decision at the earliest the spokesman said Earlier in line with its commitment to attract investment promote infusion of technology and create employment opportunities in the real estate sector the government hosted the first-ever real estate summit in JK wherein several promoters in residential retailcommercial space film entertainment industry tourism hospitality logistics warehousing and financing institutions participated and shared their wisdom for the collective vision of the growth of the sector in Jammu Kashmir PTI AB RCJ RCJ

Srinagar Oct 19 PTI The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday authorised the district collectors to alienate agricultural land to a non-agriculturist for extending the primary activity on a larger commercial scale The Administrative Council AC which met here today under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha authorised the District Collectors to grant permission to an agriculturist to alienate land to a non-agriculturist subject to certain conditions and procedure for extending primary activities on larger commercial lines and reap benefits under economy of scale an official spokesman said here The spokesman said there have been multiple demands by Mahajans Khatris and Sikhs for right of sale-purchase of agriculture land for investment in agriculture and allied activities Their resentment existed on the statutory provision that defined certain section of the society as agriculturist class who alone were eligible to own agricultural land under JK Land Alienation Act SVT1995 he said The spokesman said the decision fulfils the long pending demands from the civil society seeking rights for sale-purchase of the agriculture land for investment in agriculture and allied activities It is expected to assist in the revamping of the agriculture sector and aid economic growth to create employment in the primary sector of Jammu and Kashmir he added The union territory has a substantial potential for agriculture and allied sectors which usually require land up to 80 kanal the spokesman said He said the decision allows the deputy commissioners to permit sale of land up to 20 kanals for agriculture and allied activities and up to 80 kanal in case of horticulture orchards The entire process will be completed within 30 days of making an application to this effect the spokesman said The step will provide people from non-agriculturist class with the opportunity to acquire land for agriculture and allied activities and take up such activities as profession to systematically bring new investments in agriculture horticulture and animal husbandry sectors he added PTI MIJ MGA MGA
