Lakhimpur : The Supreme Court on Wednesday has taken suo motu in the Lakhimpur violence case, the act which took 8 lives. The Supreme Court has listed the matter before a three-judge bench on Thursday.
A three-judge Bench led by Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana will hear the suo motu case. The CJI will be flanked by Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli on the Bench. Earlier this week, the Uttar Pradesh government had initiated a judicial probe into the matter headed by a retired High Court judge.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that it will pay a compensation of ₹45 lakh and a government job to the kin of the four farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
