An explosive half-century from Nic Maddison and fiery spell by spinner Akeal Hosein helped Melbourne Renegades start off their Big Bash League (BBL) campaign with a 22-run win over Brisbane Heat at Cairns on Thursday.
Explosive batter Paul Stirling remained unbeaten and played a match-winning knock of 66 runs from 48 deliveries to knock the West Indies out of the T20 World Cup 2022.
Earlier in the day, Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed that there will be a delay in the start of the second T20I match against India which will be played at Warner Park in St Kitts on Monday.
The innings face disruption due to rain. But despite this disruption, India managed to put up a solid total on the board. Dhawan (58) and Gill (98*) continued their fine batting form and Windies bowlers were not able to do much. Shreyas Iyer also contributed a fine 44.
