Noida Apr 19 PTI In compliance with the instructions on checking loud music by the Uttar Pradesh government police in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday served notices to around 900 religious places including temples and mosques officials said Police officials went around temples mosques among other places of worship besides marriage banquet halls and DJ operators regarding use of loudspeakers on directions by Police Commissioner Alok Singh they said These places were asked to comply with the instructions given by the High Court regarding sound amplification devices a police spokesperson said The officers of the commissionerate gave notices to 602 temples out of 621 temples 265 mosques out of 268 mosques 16 other religious places as well as 217 wedding places 175 DJ operators the police spokesperson said If any religious place DJ operator does not follow the instructions given by the Honourable High Court regarding sound limit then strict action will be taken against the concerned the official said Amid incidents of violence during festivals in some states UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that no religious procession should be taken out without permission and that the use of loudspeakers should not inconvenience others With Eid festival and Akshaya Tritiya likely to fall on the same day next month and many other festivals lined up in the coming days Adityanath said the police needs to be extra cautious During the course of a review meeting on law and order with senior officials in Lucknow on Monday he had said everyone has the freedom to follow their method of worship according to their religious ideology PTI KIS RDK RDK

Noida Dec 31 PTI The Noida Police on Friday conducted foot marches and checks across markets shopping malls metro stations and other public places in the city to review security arrangements on New Years eve officials said Besides police personnel specialised Pinaka commandos and dog squads were also roped in for the intensive checking that also covered congested city lanes as well metal detectors installed in private establishments the officials said The police also raised awareness among the public about the surge in COVID-19 cases and the night curfew which begins at 11 pm and said efforts were being made to enforce the restrictions strictly The drill was carried out on instructions of Police Commissioner Alok Singh under supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Noida 1 Ankita Sharma and ACP Noida 2 Rajneesh Verma a police spokesperson said ACP Ankita Sharma said occasions like New Year or New Years eve become vulnerable to anti-social activities since crowds gather at public places for celebrations Hence comprehensive checking was done at shopping malls metro stations markets and other public places A decoy was also sent to some shops and malls in a surprise check of their security installments which were found working well Their metal detectors were also found functional Sharma said Some suspicious-looking persons who were found during the checks were questioned by police she said The officer said a night curfew has been imposed from 11 pm to 5 am on the basis of the new guidelines of the UP government for the coronavirus pandemic and police will take strict action against those flouting the norms PTI KIS RDK RDK

Noida Dec 27 PTI With an eye on improving women safety this ongoing winter the Gautam Buddh Nagar police has invited suggestions from residents of Noida and Greater Noida for effective law and order measures which include increasing police patrolling and pickets Police Commissioner Alok Singh has issued instructions to launch a campaign for women safety keeping in mind the winter season when the days are shorter according to an official spokesperson The suggestions can be made Twitter at the police handle noidapolice via e-mail at mailtodcp-polwsgbupgovindcp-polwsgbupgovin and at the womens cell helpline 9870395200 the official said A campaign will be carried out over the next few days for taking suggestions and feedbacks from the residents vis a vis increasing police patrolling setting up more pickets etc for women safety under the supervision of Women and Child Safety unit head Deputy Commissioner Vrinda Shukla the police spokesperson said The police commissionerate has noted that several working women face inconvenience at desolate or unlit road stretches while returning from work in the evening as the sun also sets early during winters and sometimes due to foggy weather conditions Based on the feedback patrolling and pickets would be increased on all such sections and wherever deemed necessary for preventive action by the police the spokesperson said The campaign will continue for the next few days and effective measures will be taken by the Mahila Swayam Siddha team a specialised bike-borne team of women police personnel on the basis of the suggestions the official added PTI KIS RDK RDK
