The United Nations (UN) on Tuesday called for solidarity in advancing sustainable development as the global population is projected to reach 8 billion on 15 November 2022, signalling major improvements in public health that have lowered the risk of death and increased life expectancy.

Worldwide, an estimated 1 in 3 have women experienced physical or sexual abuse in her lifetime[1]. The most recent data from National Family Health Survey (NHFS-5) also reported that around 29.3 per cent married Indian women between the ages of 18-49 years have faced domestic violence/ or sexual violence.
