New Delhi (Delhi) [India] April 11 (ANI/NewsVoir): Erisha Agritech Private Ltd, a Rana Group Company, has entered into an agreement with The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), towards design and development of advanced powertrain systems and components for electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cells developed under Erisha Agritech Private Ltd. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked to this effect between the two companies.

New Delhi Dec 26 PTI The Delhi government is going to ask e-commerce companies food delivery services and cab aggregators to completely switch to electric vehicles and petrol pumps to not give fuel to vehicles without a pollution-under-check PUC certificate officials said Vehicle emissions account for around 38 per cent of the citys air pollutionThe government is going to take two majors steps to check vehicular pollution -- we will ask all aggregators including Zomato Swiggy Ola Uber etc to completely switch to electric vehiclesThese services account for 30 per cent of the registered vehicles in Delhi an official told PTIWe are also considering directingdealers and petrol pumps not to supply fuel to vehicles without PUC certificate he saidDirections under the Environment Protection Act in this regard are expected to be issued this weekAsked if a deadline will be given to aggregators to switch to EVs a senior official in the transport department said It will be done in phased manner We will soon publish the draft guidelines The Delhi Electric Vehicles policy -- introduced in August 2020 aims at increasing the EV share in total vehicle sales to 25 percent by 2024Only Flipkart by 2030 and Fedex by 2040 have established worldwide targets for converting their last-mile delivery fleets to electric vehicles while DHL has set a 60 per cent electrification target for its fleetIn October the city government launched a massive drive to check PUC certificates and deployed around 500 teamsat petrol pumps for this purposeUnder the Section 1902 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1993 vehicle owners not having a valid PUC can be fined up to Rs 10000 or imprisoned for up to six months or both The owners are required to get test their vehicles tested to ascertain if they meetemission standards for pollutants such as carbon monoxide nitrous oxides carbon dioxideThere are around 1000 authorised pollution checking centres set up at petrol pumps and workshops in the cityAlso in compliance with the National Green Tribunals directions the Delhi government will deregister all diesel vehicles which will complete 10 years on January 1 2022 and issue a no objection certificate NOC so that they can be re-registered in other placesHowever no NOC will be issued for diesel vehicles which have completed 15 years or more on the date of applying for it according to an order issued earlier this monthDelhi is the most-polluted capital in the world and is one of the fastest expanding cities in terms of population according to Swiss air technology company IQAirAccording to a study conducted by the Automotive Research Association of India and The Energy and Resources Institute in 2018 vehicles contribute to about 40 percent of PM 25 emissions in Delhi PTI GVS DV DV

Pune Nov 20 PTI The Automotive Research Association of India ARAI should develop technology to reduce the charging time for electric vehicles Union Minister of Heavy Industries Mahendra Nath Pandey said on Saturday He was speaking at a press conference here after an industry interaction meet organised by the Ministry of Heavy Industries in association with ARAI SIAM and ACMA to share information about the production linked incentive PLI scheme for the automotive sector The auto field contributes to about 14-15 per cent of GDP which can go up to 25-30 per cent and can support the PMs vision for making India a USD 5 trillion economy The sale of electric vehicles has increased drastically in the last few months due to the various schemes and subsidies provided by the government Pandey said However he also spoke about the challenges in EV adoption including the time taken for charging vehicles To overcome one of these problems related to charging I am going to urge Automotive Research Association of India ARAI to develop the technology that reduces the charging time the minister said Since charging is the main concern when it comes to the use of EVs the government has chosen 9 expressways where 6000 charging stations have been sanctioned and about 3000 shall be installed soon he added The Advanced Chemical Cell ACC which is the main component of the EV battery is currently imported About 30 per cent of the cost of the EV is the cost of battery itself This can reduce if it is locally produced This is possible because about 70 per cent of the material used in the manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries is already available in India With these newly introduced PLI schemes the government is providing support up to Rs 362 crore per gigawatt in this sector of EVs Pandey said He also highlighted the governments FAME I and II Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles scheme which has now been extended by another two years to March 31 2024 With the production-linked incentive PLI scheme it will lead to an investment of Rs 42500 crore and will further accelerate manufacturing of components and batteries in India The government is providing financial support up to 8-13 per cent for auto component manufacturers and up to 13-18 per cent for EV manufacturers through the scheme This will also facilitate the creation of about 75 lakh new advanced-level employment opportunities he added Considering the increase in the usage of drones in coming years for various applications the Ministry of Heavy Industries has sanctioned Rs 120 crore for research and other related work in this regard Further steps will be initiated by the Ministry of Civil Aviation the minister added PTI COR NSK ABM ABM
