Mumbai Feb 23 PTI Some superheroes dont wear capes they are called dad said Nilofer Malik daughter of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate ED on Wednesday The ED arrested Malik after questioning him for about five hours at its office in south Mumbais Ballard Estate area in a money laundering probe linked to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides The 62-year-old NCP leader was later produced before special Judge R N Rokade who remanded him to ED custody till March 3 for further probe into the matter When the minister was brought to the court Nilofer who was waiting on the premises got an opportunity to meet her father although briefly When the EDs vehicle carrying Malik entered the court premises and stopped Nilofer could not stop her tears She went close to the SUV held her fathers hand and hugged him after opening the vehicles door She then kissed her fathers hand and raised her clenched fist to show her support A video of the emotional moment between the father-daughter duo was later circulated on social media Along with Nilofer Maliks another daughter was also present inside the court during the hearing After the brief meeting with her father Nilofer said in a tweet Some superheroes dont wear capesThey are called Dad with hashtags NawabMalikMyHero NawabMalik WeStandWithNawabMalik PTI DC NP NP

Mumbai Oct 27 PTI The NCBs Deputy Director General DDG-northern region Gyaneshwar Singh who is heading the departmental vigilance probe into allegations of extortion in the drugs-on-cruise case arrived at the agencys office here on Wednesday Singh reached the Narcotics Control Bureaus NCB office at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai at 1245 pm The NCB has ordered a vigilance inquiry into the claims made by a witness Prabhakar Sail in the cruise drugs case of an extortion bid of Rs 25 crore by some agency officials including its Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede to let off Aryan Khan the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan The inquiry is being conducted by Gyaneshwar Singh who is also the chief vigilance officer of the federal anti-narcotics agency A large number of media persons were present outside the NCBs office when Singh arrived While getting out of his vehicle Singh said he will speak to media persons later It was not immediately clear whether he will record the statement of Wankhede on Wednesday Singh along with four other officers of the NCB landed in Mumbai from Delhi in the morning Wankhede who is leading the probe in the cruise drugs case visited the NCBs headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday and spent over two hours Sources earlier said the inquiry will also look at the aspect of K P Gosavi another NCB independent witness in the case being in close proximity of Aryan Khan after the raids and the procedures followed by the sleuths while entrusting custody of all the accused arrested on October 3 from the international cruise terminal in Mumbai Photos and videos of Gosavi with Aryan Khan have gone viral on social media and other news platforms The role of all the officers and witnesses involved in the case will be probed and it will be recorded if they followed the NCB manual and procedures mentioned in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances NDPS Act during such operations they said Wankhede on Sunday wrote to Mumbai Police commissioner Hemant Nagrale seeking protection from likely legal action being planned against him by unknown persons to falsely frame him concerning an alleged vigilance-related issue On Monday he failed to get any relief related to an affidavit on the sensational extortion claims made by Sail with a special court saying it cannot pass a blanket order barring courts from taking cognisance of the document PTI DC GK GK
Mumbai Oct 23 PTI The Narcotics Control Bureau NCB is scrutinizing the financial transactions of all the arrested accused including actor Shah Rukh Khans son Aryan Khan in the cruise ship drugs seizure case an official said on Saturday He also said that the agency would oppose the bail plea of Aryan Khan before the Bombay High Court scheduled for hearing on October 26 The NCB has so far arrested 20 persons after raiding a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2 and allegedly seizing narcotic drugs The probe team has already collected transaction records of some of the accused from whom commercial or large quantity of drugs which attracts harsher punishment under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act had been seized the official said The agency is also checking the accused persons sources of income The investigating team is extracting deleted messages and WhatsApp chats from mobile phones laptops and other electronic gadgets of the accused and checking if they used any other social media platforms for communicating with each other the official said The NCB had allegedly found MDMA from some of the accused during the raid This drug is mostly sourced from Europe and the United States and the agency was probing from where the accused obtained it the official said Hydroponic weed seized from the accused had been procured through the dark net clandestine Internet portals he claimed Actor Ananya Panday who has been questioned by the agency in connection with the case was cooperating with the investigation the NCB official said On Thursday the agency conducted searches at six locations in the city and seized mobile phones laptops and other electronic gadgets from some suspects he said Earlier in the morning Shah Rukh Khans manager Pooja Dadlani was seen visiting the NCB office in Ballard Estate in south Mumbai On Thursday an NCB team had visited the actors residence Mannat in suburban Bandra PTI DC KRK KRK KRK
