A group of 94 former BMC corporators has written to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, alleging a "lack of transparency" and "corruption" in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation ever since the term of the city's 227 corporators ended this March.
According to a statement issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the girl had an acute respiratory failure due to bronchopneumonia with measles.
After measles immunization dropped significantly and with millions of children missing vaccination, the cases in the financial capital of the country seeing a hike was a given as the total number on Wednesday stood at 233.
The ordinance of the Eknath Shinde Government which reduced the number back to 227 was challenged by former Shiv Sena UBST faction corporator Raju Pednekar.
