Bern [Switzerland], September 25 (ANI): More than one billion people get a fungal infection each year. Although most people are not affected by these infections, over 1.5 million people die as a result of them each year. While more and more fungal strains are being discovered that are resistant to one or more of the available drugs, the development of new drugs has come to a halt in recent years.
