On Monday Cricket Australia (CA) announced that they have opened the door for players and officials to have long-term sanctions modified following an amendment to their Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
Under the previous code of conduct, players could not get the sanctions reviewed once they were accepted. They can be modified now. Warner was not eligible for captaincy in Australian cricket after the 2018 ball-tampering scandal resulted in him getting banned from holding a leadership position for life.
