New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): The Delhi Cabinet on Thursday approved a start-up policy that seeks to provide youth with financial assistance provided by the government in setting up companies to make Delhi the startup destination of the world.
New Delhi Feb 24 PTI The Kejriwal government on Thursday approved Delhi Film Policy 2022 to promote the city as a hub of shooting and other production activities through subsidy up to Rs 3 crore and hosting of an international film festival Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said in a press conference that a Delhi Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also approved setting up of an e-waste management park in Delhi the first in the country on 20-acre land The new film policy will be inclusive in nature focussing on the development of the tourism sector growth of the economy and job creation he said Under the policy a single-window e-film clearance portal will be readied bringing over 25 agencies on it for various permissions related to film production within 15 days Sisodia said A Rs 50 crore Film Fund will also be set up for supporting producers through subsidy Also Delhi film cards will be issued and its holders will get extra benefits and discounts he said This is an extremely progressive policy that will have broader objectives of not just film promotion but also inclusive development and job creation Sisodia said It will seek to associates Delhiites with Delhi branding of Delhi for location shoots film art and culture promotion and job creation he said Under the policy subsidy up to Rs 3 crore will be provided depending on the number of days of shooting location and branding of Delhi local hiring of actors and support staff expenditure in Delhi during various stages of production he said PTI VITGJS AQS AQS
New Delhi Jan 28 PTI The Delhi Cabinet on Friday approved ex gratia relief to farmers at the rate of Rs 20000 per acre on account of loss due to unseasonal rains officials said The cabinet chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also approved the rates at which the ex gratia relief to farmers was to be paid as per assessment of the loss The expenditure under the exercise will be about Rs 53 crore for an approximate area of 29000 acres Due to incessant rains and water logging of fields owing to overflow of nearby natural drains during September-October 2021 in Delhi crops of farmers have been severely damaged Teams were sent to the ground to assess the damage done to the crops an official statement said The Delhi Cabinet approved ex gratia relief to farmers at the rate of Rs 20000 per acre on account of loss due to unseasonal rains The council also approved the rates at which ex gratia relief to farmers was to be paid as per assessment of the loss If the loss is assessed to be 70 per cent or less compensation will be paid at the rate of 70 per cent If the assessed loss is more than 70 per cent compensation will be paid at the rate of 100 per cent it added PTI GJS SRY

New Delhi Dec 20 PTI Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the Delhi government has decided to extend the distribution of free ration in the city for six months till May 31 2022 The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting on Monday We have started distributing free ration ever since the outbreak of coronavirus The time period of this scheme has ended so this is being extended by six months The Cabinet today decided that free ration distribution will continue till May 31 next year Kejriwal said in a virtual press conference The scheme ended on November 30 The Delhi government distributes free ration to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act NFSA 2013 and the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana PMGKAY The city has over 2000 fair price shops 1777 lakh ration card holders and around 7278 lakh beneficiaries Free ration is given over and above subsidised grains distributed to them through ration shops The PMGKAY was launched in March last year to ameliorate distress caused by COVID-19 Initially the scheme was launched for April-June last year but was later extended to November 30 In November this year Union Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey had said that the Centre had no proposal to extend distribution of free ration through the PMGKAY beyond November 30 Then too Kejriwal had said that the free ration distribution would be continued in Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Party AAP government till May 31 2022 The Delhi chief minister had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to extend the free ration distribution scheme to benefit the poor Later in the day the government released a statement saying under the NFS Act 2013 five kg of food grains were given free of cost to the needy including migrant workers unorganised workers construction workers domestic helpers and those who do not have ration cards The government provided 4 kg of wheat and 1 kg of rice per person per month During that time about 20 lakh people living in Delhi benefited from this decision of the cabinet In addition free food grains are being provided to 7278 lakh PDS beneficiaries under regular allocation under NFSA the statement said It added that the number of non-PDS Public Distribution System poor beneficiaries living in Delhi has increased to about 40 lakh and they are also being provided food grains PTI AKM SMN SMN
New Delhi Dec 20 PTI The Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved setting up of Delhi Teachers University Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced He said the university will offer among others four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programmes like BA-BEd BSc-BEd to help develop a new generation of teachers Today the Delhi Cabinet approved the establishment of the Delhi Teachers University The varsity will prepare highly qualified and well-trained teachers in Delhi itself Delhi Teachers University Bill 2021 will be placed before the Delhi Vidhan Sabha in the coming session Kejriwal said at a press conference The Delhi Teachers University will be a public university dedicated to preparing excellent quality teachers for the city across different school stages He said the students of the university will be attached with Delhi government schools for the entire duration of their course to get hands-on experience This will help students gain excellent practical knowledge in addition to theoretical knowledge Kejriwal said The admission to the new University will start for the academic session 2022-23 Delhi Teachers University will be a centre for excellence in teacher preparation at both pre-service and in-service in the areas of education studies leadership and policy It will work towards bridging the gap between practice research and policy in teacher preparation while constantly engaging with the dynamic concept and realities of quality education in the city he said The university will be set up at Bakkarwala in west Dehli The Delhi government is envisioning to institute the Delhi Teachers University to be a public university dedicated to preparing excellent quality teachers for the city across school stages the chief minister said It will operate as a multidisciplinary academic centre that brings together varied stakeholders practising and aspiring teachers teacher educators parents administrators policy planners and content developers in a dialogue through a range of programmes and activities he said PTI GJS AQS AQS
