New Delhi Mar 26 PTI The Delhi government has made provision for five road bridges two underpasses DND Flyway extension and a pedestrian subway in the budget for 2022-23 with the total allocation for the transport roads and bridges sector running into Rs 9539 crore Presenting the budget in the Assembly Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said the allocation is 13 per cent of the total budget of Rs 75800 crore Sisodia who also holds the finance portfolio proposed Rs 9539 crore for the transport roads and bridges sector which is Rs 145 crore more than the previous years allocation In 2021-22 the government had allocated Rs 9394 crore for the sector The work on five bridges two underpasses a pedestrian subway and extension of DND Flyway to Ashram will be completed in 2022-23 This will help in decongestion of Tri Nagar Inderlok Karampura Nangloi Basai Darapur Kondli and Ashram Chowk Sisodia said in his speech Out of Rs 43600 crore set aside for funding programmes and schemes the transport sector has got 20 per cent of it for 2022-23 The government has also increased the budget allocation for construction of bus shelters by about 150 per cent In financial year 2021-22 Rs 30 crore was earmarked for bus queue shelters while it has been increased to Rs 75 crore in 2022-23 budget documents showed However the budgetary allocation for marshals in buses has been reduced to Rs 280 crore from the previous years Rs 467 crore According to data provided by the government in budget documents around 11000 free WiFi hotspots have been set up in various constituencies and on an average 41 lakh people are using these services every day As part of the celebration of 75th year of Independence as many as 175 high-mast national flags have been erected across Delhi The government has plans to set up a total of 500 such national flags at different locations in Delhi The remaining flags will be set up by August 2022 Sisodia said Sisodia said that the Transport Department has made its 47 services faceless He said that with the help of facial recognition software people can get learners driving licence from home More than 11 lakh applicants have benefited from this programme till March 7 this year Sisodia also earmarked Rs 250 crore for the financial year 2022-23 to continue the facility of providing free travel to women in Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses Sisodia said that Delhis bus fleet has reached its highest-ever level In Delhi the number of buses has reached 7003 which is the largest in the history of Delhi Sisodia said PTI AKM SMN

New Delhi Feb 22 PTI Delhi governments official website is soon going to be available in a revamped form bringing together portals of different departments on a single platform officials said on Tuesday Currently the website having links of government departments fails to open despite repeated attempts There are some other portals like that of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority DDMA which pose problems when a user tries to get any information from them However websites of several departments like Excise Transport and Delhi Transport Corporation DTC work smoothly Delhi Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot who also holds the charge of Information and Technology Department said there was some problem in accessing website of the Delhi government due to a glitch in the server but it would be resolved soon He said a revamped website of the Delhi government would be available for users within this week The official website provides links of 180 sites belonging to different departments and autonomous bodies of the Delhi government and the Centre The revamped portal will have a user-friendly interface where a lot of information will be available along with links to various government services the officials said In June last year the Delhi government had floated a tender for design development hosting operation and maintenance of its website The agency hired through the tender has revamped the website that will be launched soon they said PTI VIT AAR AAR

New Delhi Dec 31 PTI Amid a spike in Omicron cases the Delhi government has ramped up medicaloxygeninfrastructure to ensure availability of the life saving gas according to official dataThe government has also procured 6000 D-type cylinders One D-type cylinder can hold 46 litres of oxygen Such cylinders were not available in the city till May 31The data showed that the Delhi Transport Corporation has over 9115 cylinders in its possession The city also has Pressure Adsorption plants that have a capacity of producing 9966 metric tonnes ofoxygen There were no such facilities in Delhi till May 31 The government will also be installing four more plants by January 5 2022Two cryogenic bottling plants with capacity of 125 metric tonne will be commissioned this week and these will have the capacity to refill 1400 jumbo cylinders in a dayTill May 31 the government had three refillers that could fill about 1500 cylinders per dayThe national capital has been seeing a surge in coronavirus cases in the last few days with 1313 cases being recorded on Thursday and the positivity rate crossing the one per cent mark Delhi has recorded 320 Omicron cases so farDelhi was hit by a brutal second wave of the pandemic in April-May which claimed a massive number of lives daily and theoxygensupply shortage issue at various hospitals had added to the woesPTI SLB DV DV
