New Delhi Mar 25 PTI Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia presented the status report of the Outcome Budget for the year 2021-22 in the Legislative Assembly on Friday Sisodia said they were the first to introduce the Outcome Budget wherein they put out details of the status of various projects undertaken by the government It is a General Knowledge question Which is the government that promises and also delivers them Except for some MLAs everyone knows the answer to this question he told the House in an apparent reference to the Opposition members While presenting the status report he said the city government constructed 13181 classrooms in its schools while the number of students enrolled in government schools rose from 15 lakh to 18 lakhNearly 80000 applications for 4800 seats were received for the 31 schools of excellence The Deshbhakti curriculum has been implemented in all government schools and will be implemented in private schools from the next year said Sisodia who is also Delhis Education Minister PTI VIT SLB CK

New Delhi Oct 29 PTI Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said entrepreneurial mindset is not only needed for running a business but for everyone so that they can contribute in the nations progress with innovative thinking Sisodia who is also Delhis Education Minister inaugurated an incubation centre at the Ambedkar University The minister said the incubation centre will act as a foundation for our future entrepreneurs This incubation centre being started in the Ambedkar University will become the foundation for new companies to be developed by our students and will give job opportunities across the world Entrepreneurial mindset is not only needed to conduct a successful business today but everyone should have that mindset so that with innovative thinking they can contribute to the progress of the country he said Stating that there are two types of universities in the world he said the first universities are those where the students stand in line to get employed and wait for some company to give them a job after graduating On the other hand there are universities where there is competition among the companies giving jobs and it is the companies that get in a line to employ the students of these universities he said It is the children of these universities who are later creating companies like Facebook Google and giving jobs to people all over the world If we want to make India a developed country and a developed economy this dream can be fulfilled only by our schools and universities he added PTI SLB CK

New Delhi Oct 27 PTI After 19 months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic schools in the national capital will reopen from November 1 for all classes with 50 percent student strength though classes will continue in the hybrid mode and no student will be forced to attend them offline the Delhi Government said on Wednesday While many principals and heads of school associations welcomed the decision of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority DDMA saying it was taken at just the right time others felt it was delayed Parents however were divided on the issue with some calling it necessary to make up for the learning loss and others raising concerns about COVID-19 risk amid festivities and rising pollution levels Some also expressed concern about several schools not providing transport when they reopened for classes 9 to 12All other educational institutions will also reopen from Monday Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said announcing the decision taken at a meeting of the DDMA and noted that the COVID-19 situation is under control in Delhi but we cannot let our guard down The Delhi government had earlier announced the reopening of schools for classes 9 to 12 colleges and coaching institutions from September 1 following a marked improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the national capital However this is the first time that schools will reopen for classes up to class 8 after the outbreak of the epidemic Sisodia said that due to school closure there has been an unprecedented loss of learning for the childrenThis was also stated by experts in the DDMA meeting that making up for this loss will not be easy Therefore it has been decided that all schools should be reopened for all classes from November 1 he said at a press conference He also said that the COVID situation is under control but considering the situation in few countries at present and the upcoming festivals there is need to be cautious and not let our guard down Sisodia who is also Delhis Education Minister said as an expert committee had recommended no parent will be forced to send their wards to school and education will continue in blended or hybrid mode both online and offline classesSchools will have to ensure that not more than 50 percent of the students in a class should be called to schools and all the staff is required to be fully vaccinated as soon as possibleSchools will also be required to make sure that their teaching and non-teaching staff is get vaccinated he said Quoting the figures shared in the DDMA meeting Sisodia said around 98 percent of the teaching and non-teaching staff has received at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine Asked about the concerns of a possible third wave the Education Minister said If the situation turns bad schools can always be asked to go back to online mode It will depend on the situationThe SOP related to the opening of these schools will be issued by the government soonAshok Agarwal president of the All India Parents Association AIPA said that schools should have reopened for all classes earlierBharat Arora the General Secretary of Action Committee of Unaided Private Schools said the entire school fraternity is delighted to hear about this notificationWe are eager to welcome our kids back to the school after a long gap Mutual trust and cooperation among schools parents students and teachers will make reopening safe and smooth I am certain that schools will ensure the best possible safety protocols in schools he addedSchools in the national capital were ordered to shut last year in March ahead of a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus While several states started partial reopening of schools in October last year the Delhi government allowed physical classes only for classes 9-12 in January this year which were again suspended following the exponential rise in COVID-19 cases during the aggressive second waveAt a DDMA meeting on September 29 a panel tasked with chalking out a detailed plan and standard operating procedures SOPs for reopening schools had noted that there has been no reported instance of any increased local transmission of COVID-19 in Delhi due to the reopening of schools for Classes 9 to 12 The panel had also suggested reopening schools from October 1 noting that the attendance of students from senior classes has increased up to 80 percent However in line with the suggestions of experts the DDMA decided not to reopen schools at that time in view of the upcoming festivals Allowing only 50 percent students per classroom mandatory thermal screening staggered lunch breaks an alternate seating arrangement and avoiding routine guest visits were among the guidelines announced by the DDMA for the reopening of schools and colleges from September 1 PTI GJS GJS RT RT
