Mumbai : The court on Friday scraped the non-bailable warrant issued against Former Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in an extortion case. Court has done so, only on some conditions. he has to furnish a bond of Rs 15,000 and he must appear whenever called by the investigating officer. The non-bailable warrant was issued by a Thane court in the extortion case of businessmen Ketan Tanna and Sonu Jalan.
Businessman Sonu Jalan had written a letter to Maharashtra Director General of Police, alleging that Param Bir Singh and some other police officials had extorted Rs 3.45 crore from him.

Mumbai : Former Assistant Police Commissioner Samsher Khan Pathan has levelled allegation on ex-cop Param Bir Singh of destroying mobile phone seized from 26/11 terror attacks convict Mohammed Ajmal Kasab. He alleged that “Param Bir Singh confiscated terrorist Kasab’s phone, ensuring that the phone never appeared during the investigation or trial.”
Speaking with India Today, Samsher said that he had confirmed his colleagues that the Kasab’s phone destroyed by Param Bir Singh was the very phone on which Kasab was receiving instructions from the Pakistani handlers.
