New Delhi [India], March 3 (ANI): Delhi Police on Thursday filed an FIR after a Christian pastor alleged he was assaulted by a mob in the national capital's Fatehpur Beri over suspicion that he was indulging in forced religious conversions.
New Delhi Feb 26 PTI Two men were killed and another got injured in northwest Delhis Keshav Puram area on Saturday when shuttering plates they were carrying in a tempos backside fell on them police said Lallan 34 Laxman 35 and Dharmender Shah 32 were rushed to a hospital after the incident where Lallan and Laxman were declared brought dead a senior police officer said The victims were sleeping at the backside of the tempo truck carrying the shuttering plates When the truck driver applied sudden brakes rashly after speeding the plates fell on the sleeping labourers Deputy Commissioner of Police northwest Usha Rangnani said The tempo was loaded at Fatehpur Beri at 3 am and was headed for a godown near PWD office in Keshav Puram the DCP said The truck driver was apprehended and booked at Keshav Puram Police Station she said A case under sections 279 rash driving or riding on a public way 337 endangering life or personal safety of others and 304A causing death by negligence of the Indian Penal Code was filed against him Rangnani said PTI NIT NIT VN VN
New Delhi Sep 24 PTI Delhi University acting Vice Chancellor P C Joshi on Friday laid the foundation stone for a student facilitation centre East in Surajmal Vihar here to help students from rural and far-off areas of the capital get their documents The facilitation centre is part of the DUs University at your Door initiative under which similar centres are coming up at Fatehpur Beri as well as Najafgarh and Bawana According to a statement these facilitation centres were expected to be completed by the end of this year and would start functioning from January 2022 Each centre will have a built-up area of 120 square metre The facilitation centres will provide documents like marksheets migration certificates etc to students at their nearby locations and guide them about university matters through inquiry counters These centres at the four corners of Delhi will save students energy and time The university is also planning to open colleges and academic departments on these university lands in future the statement said PTI TRS SNE
