Delhi transport depts faceless services Learning licenses given to over 93 of 154L applicants

New Delhi Feb 18 PTI Delhi governments transport department has provided learning licences to over 93 percent of the 154 lakh applicants in the past six months under its faceless services officials said on FridayDelhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the faceless services of the Transport department related to driving licences and different kinds of permits and certificates on August 11 2021The e-learning licence under which applicants can take the driving test online and receive the document at a given address was started on August 7 last yearAccording to official figures from August till mid February 2022 a total 154618 applications were received for e-learning licence The number of applicants who passed the test was 145124The number of pending applications for learning licence test was 3410 Those who failed the test numbered 6084 including 1157 due to colour blindness the figures showedUnder the faceless services for various other transport related documents over 85 percent applications have been approved so far it showedSince the launch of the scheme over eight lakh applications were received by the department Transport department officials saidThe department communicates to people whose applications are not accepted due to various reasons including incomplete details or certain other technicalities they saidWith the Transport department services related to driving licence registration certificate permits and termination of hypothecation available online in a faceless manner the government has closed down four motor licensing office MLOs including IP Estate Vasant Vihar Sarai Kale Khan and JanakpuriThe Faceless Services envision providing contactless queue-less hassle-free services to the applicants applying online and getting work done without visiting any transport department officePeople can avail a faceless service by logging on httptransportdelhigovin and apply for required document The process is Aadhaar-authenticated and fees can also be paid onlineThe applied for document is dispatched to the applicants through speed post They can also download it through a link sent to them through an SMS on their registered mobile number PTI VIT TDS TDS

New Delhi Nov 19 PTI To reduce vehicular pollution in the national capital the Delhi government launched the second phase of its fortnight-long Red Light On Gadi Off campaign at 100 traffic signals in the city on FridayDelhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai visited the ITO crossing and appealed to the public to make the fight against pollution successfulThe campaign was started on October 18 and was to end on November 18 but seeing the spike in the pollution levels the Aam Aadmi Party AAP government decided to start its second phase from FridayRai said researches have shown that nearly 30 per cent of the pollution in Delhi is due to internal sources with vehicular emissions being the biggest contributorHe said every day one person on an average burns fuel for 20-25 minutes at traffic junctions This is wastage and also a major source of pollution he addedThe main aim of the Red Light On Gadi Off campaign is to reduce vehicular pollution in the city We have now decided to extend this campaign for 15 days from today and it will continue till December 3 Rai told reporters at the ITO crossingHe requested the public to participate actively in the campaignRai said the Delhi government has been taking all necessary steps to control pollution including a ban on the entry of trucks except for those carrying essential goods and a 100 per cent work from home for all government employeesLater in a statement the government said various survey reports have been collected from all over Delhi regarding pollutionThe research and analysis from these show that while 70 per cent of Delhis pollution is sourced from outside vehicular pollution is the biggest contributor in the remaining 30 per cent that comes from within the city the statement saidOn the Centres decision to repeal three contentious farm laws Rai said it is a victory of the farmers protesting against the legislationsThis is a big victory of the farmers movement The Centre should not only formally take these laws back in the next Parliament session but should also make a law on the MSP minimum support price for the farmers benefit he saidDue to the fear of upcoming elections the farm laws are being withdrawn which is the first victory for the farmers the minister was quoted in the statement as saying PTI AKM RC

New Delhi Sep 28 PTI Delhi recorded two COVID-19 deaths and 34 fresh instances of the infection in a day with a 005 per cent case positivity rate according to a health bulletin issued by the city government on TuesdayBefore Tuesday the national capital has recorded five fatalities due to the viral infection in September so farWith the new cases the Covid case tally in the city climbed to 1438780 of which over 1413 lakh patients have recovered The death toll has risen to 25087The city has 373 active COVID-19 cases up from 366 on Monday As many as 105 patients are in home isolation down from 107 the previous day The number of containment zones in the city stands at 94 according to the bulletinThe authorities conducted 65101 tests including 41359 RT-PCR ones on Monday The rest were rapid-antigen testsDelhi had recorded 32 COVID-19 cases and zero deaths due to the disease on Monday while the positivity rate stood at 006 per cent The city reported 29 cases of the infection on Sunday 27 on Saturday and 24 on FridayDelhi battled a brutal second wave of the pandemic in April and May that claimed a massive number of lives with the issue of oxygen shortage in hospitals adding to the woesOn April 20 Delhi had reported 28395 cases the highest in the city since the beginning of the pandemic On April 22 the case positivity rate was 362 per cent the highest so far The highest number of 448 deaths was reported on May 3Amid apprehension of a third wave the Delhi government has been ramping up its health infrastructure to prevent a repeat of the crisis witnessed during the peak of the second wave of the pandemicSteps have been taken to increase the number of hospital beds to accommodate up to 37000 cases a day and to become self-reliant in terms of oxygen supplyAround 7000 ICU beds are being added at government healthcare facilities in Shalimar Bagh Kirari Sarita Vihar Sultanpuri Raghuveer Nagar and GTB Hospital and Chacha Nehru Hospital At present there are 10000 ICU beds in the national capital PTI SLB NSD NSD
