On Wednesday, a military helicopter crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu in which General rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives. The sole surviving member is still in hospital fighting life and death battle. CDS Rawat’s funeral is scheduled for 4 pm, whereas the funeral of Brigadier LS Lidder, whose body was also identified as one of the other casualties of the air accident, was held at 9 am.The bodies of General Rawat and his wife Madhulika were kept at their Kamaraj Marg residence from 11 am to 12:30 pm for the general public to pay their final respects.
