In order to save its status of GSP Plus, Pakistan is dangling between the conditions put forth by the European Union (EU) as well as its domestic exports lobby, Financial Post reported.
The Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Plus is set to end in 2023 and a mission is preparing the final report of the last decade to be discussed in the European Union Parliament, which will decide about the continuation of the scheme, Daily Times reported.
Brussels [Belgium], May 12 (ANI): The European Union has taken a strong view on Pakistan's failure in complying under GSP Plus even after the country's lobbying for ensuring a smooth renewal of GSP Plus incentives for their country beyond 2023.
Islamabad [Pakistan], May 3 (ANI): Tightening sanctions on Pakistan's compliance under GSP Plus, the European Union is proposing to add five new conventions to reinforce the social, labour, environmental and climate dimensions of the scheme, as the current framework expires at the end of 2023.
