People residing at Tawang have shown confidence in the Indian Army and expressed their support, following the December 9 border clash where the Indian soldiers thwarted the Chinese attempt to change the status quo along the LAC in the Yangtse sector in Tawang.
The Chinese were armed with clubs, sticks and other equipment for the clash. The Indian troops were also prepared for the clash as they had known the intentions of the adversary, sources said.
Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said that the Indian Army has the support of the entire country with regard to Monday's clashes.
"Lt Gen BS Raju #VCOAS interacted with Lt Gen Datuk Arman Rumaizi Bin Hj Ahmad, Chief of Staff, Malaysian Armed Forces, and Lt Gen Datuk Seri Mohammad Bin Ab Rahman, Deputy Chief of #MalaysianArmy and discussed aspects of bilateral defence cooperation," Additional Directorate General of Public Information of Indian Army said in a tweet.
"Indian Army and its formations along Northern frontiers apart from their primary role have a stellar record in their nation-building initiatives", said Indian Army in its statement.

An intelligence-based operation was launched by the Indian Army in the general area astride the line of control from November 29, 2022, to December 1, 2022.
The Indian Army released a statement on Friday saying that based on specific inputs, a search was conducted in the area in which two AK rifles, two pistols, Narcotics and war-like stores were recovered.
