Bhopal Dec 25 PTI More than 33000 cases have been registered in Madhya Pradesh under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act in the the last four years the state government has said The number of cases registered under this Act has gone up in the state in the past two years as per the data provided by Home Minister Narottam Mishra in the state Legislative Assembly on Friday in a written reply to a question asked by Congress MLA Jitu Patwari The data said that 33239 cases under the SCST Prevention of Atrocities Act were registered in a period of around four years between January 2018 and November 2021 At 9664 the highest number of such cases were registered in 2020 while as many as 9249 cases were filed in 11 months of this year A total of 6852 cases were registered under this Act in 2018 while this number was 7474 in 2019 the data said Along with the cases registered under SCST Act Patwari in the same question had also sought information about the annual conviction percentage in the cases related to atrocities against women The reply said that there has been an annual average conviction of 27 per cent of the cases related to atrocities against women in Madhya Pradesh in the last seven years It added that the conviction rate in the cases of atrocities against women was 2716 per cent in 2015 2734 per cent in 2016 2698 per cent in 2017 2315 per cent in 2018 2939 per cent in 2019 2610 per cent in 2020 and 2829 per cent in 2021 PTI ADU NP NP
Bhopal Dec 22 PTI The annual intake of the Indian Made Foreign Liquor IMFL in Madhya Pradesh has increased by 23 per cent in the past one decade while the consumption of beer has gone up by 14 per cent state Excise Minister Jagdish Devda said in the state Assembly He submitted a written reply in the House on Tuesday to a question raised by Congress legislator Jitu Patwari who had asked about the status of liquor consumption in Madhya Pradesh between 2010-11 and 2020-21 In the reply the minister stated that the annual intake of IMFL rose to 42065 lakh proof litres in 2020-21 registering an increase of 2305 per cent as compared to 34186 lakh proof litres in 2010-11 The intake of country liquor during this period decade went up by 852 per cent to 89916 lakh proof litres from 82859 lakh proof litres in 2010-11 he said Also the consumption of beer in the state went up by 1419 per cent to 84077 lakh bulk litres in 2020-21 from 73627 lakh bulk litres in 2010-11 the minister informed During the decade the highest consumption of country liquor was recorded in 2015-16 at 117052 lakh proof litres he said in the reply The highest intake of IMFL was recorded in 2019-20 when 58348 lakh proof litres were sold In the same year the beer intake was the highest at 109967 lakh bulk litres during this decade he added The minister also informed that there was no liquor ban proposal pending before the state government PTI ADU GK GK
