Incessant rainfall caused waterlogging in several parts of Chennai, resulting in traffic diversions and closure of subways — throwing life out of gear for the people. By Wednesday evening, the intermittent and light rainfall that Tamil Nadu witnessed through the day had picked up pace and turned into a non-stop heavy shower in many parts of the state including Chennai and nearby Chengelpet, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Villupuram.
